About Me
I am lucky to call Pagosa Springs my home and the place I was raised. As a kid, I knew I wanted to come back. After 18 years away in which I experienced the world outside Southwest Colorado, it felt right to return. Serving my community is one of the most important parts of my personal and professional life, and counseling is my attempt to contribute positively to it. Counseling has been a gift in my own life, both as a client and a clinician, and I've loved having a career where I make a living building relationships with people and assisting them with positive change.
Before I was a counselor, I was (and still am) a coach. Sports and dogs were my first loves and they have been the two longest lasting. I grew up playing volleyball and basketball and have coached basketball for 7 years at the high school level. Coaching is such a perfect blend of meeting people where they are at and never letting them stay there. Coaching has helped me understand the psychology of sport and the importance of having someone safe to believe in you. Mental Performance Consulting has become a natural meeting ground for my counseling training and the world of competitive sports that I love so much.
When not counseling or coaching, yes, there is a very good chance you will see me around town :) I like walking my dogs and listening to a podcast about the NBA or the latest trends in mental health or celebrity gossip. Depends on the day. I love baking zucchini bread for my friends, family, and strangers because I want the whole world to love my zucchini bread. And I believe that they do. Ask and you shall receive.
